The New Jersey Roundtable strongly believes that in order for our profession to succeed, it is critical that we support students majoring or planning to major in supply chain management or related disciplines.  Every year, we bring supply chain professionals to colleges and universities, and award qualified students a scholarship and a convention grant.

Our roundtable organizes free career workshops for educational institutions, by bringing seasoned professionals to campuses and letting students know what the supply chain profession is all about.  The NJ Roundtable makes every effort in reaching out to all schools in New Jersey that have supply chain or similar programs, and so far, we have made connections with Rutgers University, NJIT, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Bloomfield College.  If your school has a supply chain related program, please contact us and we will be happy to visit your school.

In addition to offering career workshops, our Roundtable gives scholarships and subsidizes a trip to the CSCMP global convention in October, via a grant, to qualified students.  For the conference grant, students are required to spend 50% of their time working with CSCMP staff at the conference.  The Council gives them the other 50% of their time to attend sessions of their choice, network with attendees, set up job opportunity appointments, and experience the conference fully.

Both undergraduate and graduate students from colleges and universities in New Jersey can apply for our scholarships and our convention grants. To be eligible for the awards, the applicant must be a student member of CSCMP.  In general, applicants need to fill out an application, have a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, a resume, an essay for scholarship, and an additional essay for the convention grant.  Application materials may vary each year and are normally available in the Spring of each year.  For next year's application, please contact our Education Chairperson, Anne Strauss-Wieder, at asw@as-w.com.

So far, Rutgers University and NJIT have been the biggest recipients of our educational outreach benefits.  The New Jersey Roundtable wants to give our scholarships and grants to as many schools in New Jersey as possible, and we encourage students from other NJ schools to apply for our awards.
