Message from the President

Last year was a very successful year as we had many senior executives from well-known multi-billion companies speak at our events, as well as tours that were educational and insightful.  As a result of your support, we had an average attendance of 100 people.  Our last event in June drew over 150 people.

We are planning for another year of great programming.  Please do check back this website to see our announcement on our first event for the new year.

We hope you enjoy the summer and we hope to see you again in our kick off meeting in October for yet another exciting year.

Sincerely,

Drew McElroy
President

About CSCMP and CSCMP NJ Roundtable

CSCMP was founded in 1963 as the National Council of Physical Distribution Management (NCPDM).  NCPDM was formed by a visionary group of educators, consultants, and managers who envisioned the integration of transportation, warehousing, and inventory as the future of the discipline.  In 1985, the association changed its name to Council of Logistics Management (CLM) in recognition of the growing field of logistics. In 2004 the CLM's Executive Committee voted to become CSCMP, to encompass a broader scope of what we do.  For more information, please see www.cscmp.org.

CSCMP Global head office is based in Lombard, Illinois, and we are the New Jersey Roundtable of this premier association.  CSCMP has over 8,500 active members, and we are proud to say that the New Jersey Roundtable contributes to 7% of the worldwide membership.  In addition to a sizable local affiliation, we have over 3,500 supply chain professionals in our mailing list.

Our roundtable is one of 97 worldwide roundtables that carries out what CSCMP is all about, and that is to provide educational, career development, and networking opportunities to our local members and to the entire profession in the State of New Jersey.  Over the past years, CSCMP NJ Roundtable had invited top notch speakers, such as the Group Vice President of Macy's Merchandising Group, Executive Vice President of Church & Dwight, and Vice President of Unilever, to our networking dinner functions, creating valuable networking opportunities for attendees (see Program).

In addition to creating learning and networking opportunities for the profession, we give back to the community by offering free career workshops to members and free event attendance to CSCMP student members.  We also give thousands of dollars in scholarships to college students in supply chain programs, and sponsor 1-2 students to attend the CSCMP Annual Conference each year (see Education).

To sum up, New Jersey Roundtable is one of the most active roundtables in the world.  As a result of the hard work contributed by our board members and officers, all of whom are volunteers, we were recently recognized by CSCMP Global Office with a bronze medal on Best Practices, and two Certificates of Contribution.  Officers of the NJ Roundtable will continue to create relevant activities for our members and the entire supply chain profession in New Jersey.

If you are passionate about the supply chain field, we invite you to attend our events and see what we are all about. If you enjoy our group and decide to join us, we welcome you to a great big network of powerful and highly accomplished supply chain professionals, which no doubt will help your career.
